The goal of buccal fat removal is to thin the cheeks, specifically in the area of the cheek hollows by removing the fats on cheek and cheekbones. It is also called as bichectomy or with a more popular name these days Hollywood cheek, triangular face operation or V face operation.

A buccal fat removal removes the buccal fat pad, a naturally occurring pad of fat in the cheek hollow area.
